Hush Acoustics were approached to provide an acoustic solution to the party floor for a flat for a new resident.
The new tenant is Autistic so Hush worked with the client to ensure that the solution would be appropriate for
their needs. The acoustic specification not only needed to reduce both impact and airborne ‘noise nuisance’ encroaching to the flat below but also ensure the final floor finish could be fully bonded to the acoustic substrate.
Hush Mat 15 with Hush Ply 28 overlaid, was specified for the floor. Providing mass, flexibility and isolation, this solution provided a robust surface to allow the floor covering to be directly bonded, ensuring it could not be lifted.
This solution was also chosen as the noise issues in the building would not be classed as normal domestic noise, thus requiring a more robust specification.
Harbour Light reintroduces people back into the community through the provision of appropriate accommodation. The Hush solution provided the required noise reduction as well as considering the safety aspects of the final floor finish.
