Phoenix House used to be home to tax offices and a basement level car park until it’s closure for some time. The developers have regenerated this building into a flat development, building into the basement, adding 2 additional floors and also expanding at the rear.
There will be a total of 149 flats which comprise of 2 bedrooms, 1 ensuite, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen/living area.
In redeveloping the property, they now faced the task of selecting the apartment floor soundproofing materials to use throughout across multiple different floor finishes.
Many options were considered before opting to use our Hush Panel 28 floating flooring. Throughout the bedrooms and living areas a simple underlay could be laid before the finished carpets or engineered timber floor. In the wet rooms and entrance hallways Detromat would be installed on top of the Hush Panel 28 to form an anti cracking surface.
With 100 men working on site, one 1000m2 floor would be completed per week. That meant Vascroft had a strict delivery schedule which Hush kept up to offering a Moffett offload facility before the materials were crane loaded to each floor.
Acoustic tests carried out in the show flat exceeded the clients requirements.
