Hush-Batten 70 has been designed as a resilient composite batten that reduces impact sound transmission between separating floors. Hush-Batten 70 allows the construction of a spacious service void and provides long lasting support for floating timber or chipboard floors. Hush-Batten 70 complies with Robust Details FFT1 over concrete and steel and can also be used to significantly improve the performance of timber separating floors within refurbishment projects.

  • Comprises 65mm x 45mm planed timber and a 10mm acoustic resilient layer of Hushfelt ™ factory bonded to the underside.

1. Loose lay the battens, felt side down, in continuous rows at recommended centres. Allow for perimeter battens at the ends of the batten runs. All perimeter battens must be isolated by at least 25mm from the walls.

2. When planning the floor layout leave a 10-15mm expansion gap around all perimeters, fix the flooring to the battens using a generous amount of Hush-Bond Panel Adhesive and secure with ring nails or screws. The fixings must not penetrate the resilient layer to the underside of the battens. At the same time the flooring boards should be glued at all teegee joints board to board.

3. Press Hush-Seal 20 Perimeter Seal into the perimeter expansion gap ensuring that the floor floats freely of the walls maintaining acoustic isolation or use perimeter detail as per Robust Detail instructions using Hush-RD Flanking Strip.

Full fitting instructions are supplied with all products and are available to download from the Installation Guides section.
