The HD1054 Hush Double Timber Stud Wall System provides a high‑performance separating wall by using two independent timber stud frames with an insulated cavity and resilient linings. The decoupled structure dramatically reduces airborne sound transmission and limits flanking paths, helping projects achieve Part E of the Building Regulations. Ideal for apartments, hotels, student living and education settings where privacy and acoustic comfort are critical.

System Components

• Two independent timber stud frames (no rigid ties between leaves).
• Acoustic insulation within each stud frame and central cavity.
• Resilient bars or acoustic clips to decouple board linings.
• Multiple layers of acoustic plasterboard to each side for enhanced mass.
• Perimeter isolation and acoustic sealant to prevent sound leakage.

Installation Guidance

• Construct two separate stud frames with a clear cavity; avoid rigid bridging between leaves.
• Install acoustic insulation tightly within studs and cavity, avoiding gaps and compression.
• Fix resilient bars/clips horizontally to studs and apply multiple plasterboard layers with staggered joints.
• Maintain perimeter isolation and seal all junctions and penetrations with acoustic sealant.
