HD1006 : Hush-System 1

The Hush System 1 is a proven separating floor solution for timber joist constructions, delivering excellent airborne and impact sound insulation. It combines resilient strips, acoustic infill, and dense chipboard flooring with integrated fire protection to meet the requirements of Part E of the Building Regulations. This system is widely specified in new build and refurbishment projects where timber floors require robust acoustic treatment and fire resistance.

System Components

Installation Guidance

  • Staple Hush-Felt 25 Resilient Strips to the tops of all joists.
  • Lay 18mm tongued and grooved flooring grade chipboard over joists, gluing all joints with Hush-Bond Adhesive.
  • Seal all perimeters using Hush-Seal 20 Acoustic Sealant.
  • Dress Hush-Mesh Firewire down the sides of the joists and across the back of the ceiling to form trays.
  • Fit Hush-Slab 100 tightly between joists, resting on the Firewire trays with no air gaps.
  • Install Hush-Fill 60 acoustic infill onto a 9mm plywood shelf fitted between the joists.
  • Residential houses and apartments with timber separating floors.
  • Student accommodation and hotels requiring compliant acoustic treatment.
  • Commercial and mixed-use buildings with timber floors.
  • Refurbishment projects upgrading existing timber joist constructions.
  • Fully Part E compliant – tested for airborne and impact sound insulation.
  • Integrates both acoustic and fire protection in one system.
