The Hush System IC is a high-performance separating floor and ceiling solution that combines Hush-Panel 28 with resilient joist strips and an independent ceiling construction. By isolating the ceiling from the structural joists, it provides outstanding airborne and impact sound insulation while meeting Part E of the Building Regulations. This system is suitable for both new build and refurbishment projects where enhanced acoustic separation is required.
- Hush-Panel 28 acoustic flooring panels.
- Hush-Bond Adhesive for all T&G panel joints.
- Hush-10 Joist Strips installed to joist tops.
- Hush-Seal 20 Acoustic Sealant for perimeter isolation.
- Independent ceiling joists installed on hangers.
- Hush-Slab 100 Sound Absorber fitted tightly between ceiling joists.
- Two layers of 15mm Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard fixed to underside of ceiling joists.
Installation Guidance
- Lay Hush-Panel 28 over the structural deck with all T&G joints glued using Hush-Bond Adhesive.
- Install Hush-10 Joist Strips securely on top of all joists as per manufacturer’s guidance.
- Seal all floor perimeters with Hush-Seal 20 Acoustic Sealant.
- Fix independent ceiling joists on hangers, separate from the structural joists.
- Fit Hush-Slab 100 Sound Absorber tightly between the independent ceiling joists.
- Install two layers of 15mm Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard to the underside of the ceiling joists.
- Seal all perimeters with Hush Acoustic Sealant before skim finishing.
- Residential apartments and housing developments with timber separating floors.
