The Hush System LP (HD1030) is a high-performance acoustic flooring solution designed for use in refurbishment and conversion projects where an existing timber deck is retained. By combining Hush-Panel 28 acoustic flooring with a plasterboard plank layer and resilient sealing, this system delivers excellent airborne and impact sound reduction to meet Part E requirements. The build-up also incorporates a suspended firewire tray holding Hush-Slab 100 insulation between joists, providing additional acoustic separation and thermal benefits. Reliable, versatile, and simple to install, the Hush System LP is a proven solution for upgrading existing floors in residential and multi-occupancy buildings.
System Components
- Hush-Panel 28 (all T&G joints glued with Hush-Bond Adhesive).
- 19mm plasterboard plank laid over existing floorboards or OSB deck.
- Hush-Seal 20 perimeter seal for all floor edges.
- Hush-Mesh Firewire trays dressed down sides of joists and across back of ceiling.
- Hush-Slab 100 acoustic insulation fitted between joists, supported on firewire trays.
Installation Guidance
- Lay 19mm plasterboard plank over the existing timber floor or OSB deck.
- Install Hush-Panel 28 above the plank, gluing all T&G joints with Hush-Bond.
- Seal all floor perimeters using Hush-Seal 20 Acoustic Sealant.
- Dress Hush-Mesh Firewire trays down the sides of joists and across the back of the ceiling.
- Fit Hush-Slab 100 insulation between joists, ensuring it rests securely on the firewire trays.
- Refurbishment and conversion projects retaining existing timber decks.
