The Hush Screed Sound Insulation System 6 is designed to provide excellent impact and airborne sound reduction within screeded floor constructions. By incorporating resilient acoustic insulation beneath a sand and cement or proprietary screed, this system achieves full compliance with Part E of the Building Regulations. It is widely used in residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments where durable, high-performance separating floors are required.
System Components
- Acoustic resilient insulation layer (Hush Slab or specified insulation).
- Sand/cement or proprietary screed applied over insulation.
- Perimeter edge strip to maintain isolation from surrounding walls.
- Optional floor finish such as carpet, vinyl, laminate, or engineered timber.
Installation Guidance
- Lay acoustic insulation evenly across the structural subfloor, tightly butted with no gaps.
- Fit perimeter edge strips around the room to prevent flanking transmission.
- Pour and level screed directly over the acoustic insulation in accordance with datasheet guidance.
- Allow screed to cure fully before applying the chosen floor finish.
