What type of underlay to use under Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT).
Luxury Vinyl Tiles have the appearance of real wood or stone flooring but are popular for use within homes because they provide more practical benefits as opposed to the natural products. They are more durable and stable, making them a common option for home owners.
Due to the popularity of LVT, we designed our Hush LVT Underlay, which is a low weight and low gauge acoustic underlay, giving excellent impact sound reduction. The low gauge has been determined to maximise recovery of both the underlay and the luxury vinyl tile when the products are subjected to point loading. This reduces the risk of permanent indentation and marking of the LVT floor finish.
Used over varying floor structures, the underlay is suitable for use in Refurbishment and New Build projects where an LVT finish is the clients preferred choice.
It is fully recycled, a mixture of Cork and PU particles and remains continually elastic which is imperative in an underlay that is to be used under LVT. The great concern for floor finishes like LVT is movement, indentation and lipping due to the underlay. With its continual elasticity the risk of this will be reduced.
The Hush Underlay for LVT Flooring exhibits no plasticiser migration in direct contact with PVC. The low gauge has been determined to maximise recovery of both the underlay and the luxury vinyl tile when the products are subjected to point loading. This means that there will be no marking or discolouring from the underlay to the LVT and will prevent indentation. It also helps to ensure that the overall finished floor make up is not too high.
Compliant with all UK Building Regulations and standards, including Document E (England and Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland), when used as part of the correct acoustic floor system. It is also used to help improve acoustic performance under LVT in domestic applications. It combines minimum build height with permanent resilience.
Not only does the underlay meet the Building Regulations, it also has a low tog rating, making it an excellent choice for under floor heating systems.
